The Podcast
The Mourning Lamp Podcast
Beyond the Page
Where the poems begin to speak.
Readings, conversations with poets, and explorations of the strange, haunting, spiritual, and unquiet places literature leads us.
The podcast extends the life of The Mourning Lamp beyond the printed page, making room for poets to read their own work and for longer conversations about the ideas, memories, mysteries, and questions behind it.
Episodes will be available through the public podcast feed and distributed to major podcast platforms.
What You'll Hear
Readings, voices, and the stories behind the work.
Some episodes will place the poem itself at the center: writers reading their work in their own voices, followed by conversation about where it came from and what remained after it was written.
Others will wander farther into the territory surrounding the publication: Gothic literature, faith and doubt, grief and memory, folklore, the supernatural, creative practice, and the enduring human fascination with what waits just beyond certainty.
Public & Supporting Episodes
One feed, with room to grow.
Most episodes will remain part of the public podcast, available through the same RSS ecosystem readers and listeners already use.
As the publication grows, occasional supporter-only conversations, extended interviews, readings, or bonus material may also be offered. Those episodes will remain separate from access to the quarterly magazine itself.
The Magazine
Begin with the written word.
The podcast grows from the same literary world as the quarterly publication. Each issue of The Mourning Lamp remains a complete designed edition in its own right.
